Mr. Simon Leung is the CEO and Co-founder of AsiaSoft.
Prior to establishing AsiaSoft, Mr. Leung spent 17 years with Sun Microsystems (Sun) in the region of Greater China. He was the Managing Director for Sun Greater China and also served as a Senior Corporate Director for Sun Inc. USA . He played an instrumental role in developing SUN business from early start up stage to become a leading network computing IT company in Greater China.
During his 17 years with Sun, Mr Leung has taken charge of various major functions and operations. He started with managing the Finance/Accounting Departments and was responsible for the establishment of various operations/offices in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu. He then became the Head of numerous functions such as Sales (hardware, software & services), solution Delivery (engineering, project management) strategic planning, partner development/management and business development. Simon was given the Team FLAG Award in 95 as the Finance manager, Partner Sales Director of the Year in Asia Pacific (99) and 5 years of Sunrise Sales Achievements Awards.
Mr. Leung designed and implemented a Partner Model for Sun, which has been highly praised by IT industry. One of the key elements of this model is the establishment of volume UNIX system distribution in 1998; it was the first of its kind and has enabled Sun to lead this market in unit shipment for nine consecutive years (according to IDC Report). He has built up the second largest software developer community in Greater China, next to Microsoft , and started over 50 Java Centers of Excellence(JCOE) within the organizations of numerous partners and clients. In 2004, Mr. Leung was presented Strategic Elite Award in the PRC IT Channel Election, organized by Computer Partner World Publication.
Prior to joining Sun, Mr. Leung worked for several Fortune 500 companies such as Wang, Unisys, Philip Morris and Exxon Chemical.
Mr. Leung received his Bachelor degree and MBA degree from California State University, Long Beach, USA.
